This week’s Application Action Items.
Choose your own adventure 🚁
Thinking about school in the future?
Open the “Future Education Opportunities” word or excel document you created last week
Create a new section titled “Career Mentors and Role Models”
Type the names of 3-5 people whose career paths you admire and are interested in pursuing
Look them up on LinkedIn, scroll to their Education section to see if they have an advanced degree
Go back to your document - type their degree (ex. MA, MBA, MS) and field of study (ex. human resource management)
Why do this? It’s a simple first step to learn the types of degrees available that relate to your career goals
Actively applying later this year?
It’s never too early to think about transcripts (here’s why)
5 minutes: Write down the names of every institution where you have undergraduate or graduate credits from completing coursework
15 minutes: Google “(Institution Name) request transcript”
Bookmark these webpages or save them in a document, you’ll need them soon enough!
Have a question about going back to school? Is there a topic you would like to see featured? Have a funny childhood story to share?
Reply to this email, I’m here for it 📩
Make it a great weekend!
