Happy Friday!

School's out for summer - yay! Yesterday, I went to City Year Columbus' annual Field Day to celebrate this year's AmeriCorps members as an alum. The three-legged race and water balloon toss brought an unexpected wave of nostalgia for the simple joys in life.

While school's out for kids, working professionals applying to grad school this year might be gearing up for standardized admissions tests like the GMAT and GRE (womp).

To help you out - or plan ahead for next year - today I've put together 5 last-minute test prep tips whether you're a super planner or super procrastinator.

This week’s highlights:

  • Your education affirmation

  • 5 last-minute test prep tips for the GMAT and GRE

  • Using standardization to eat healthier 🥣

Education affirmation.

5 last-minute test prep tips for GMAT and GRE.

Standardized tests are miserable, especially when you’re studying last minute. Take a deep breath, you can do this.

These 5 test prep strategies will help:

  1. Prioritize the most commonly tested topics (click below to read what these are for GMAT and GRE)

  2. Take practice tests under “real” conditions

  3. Review your practice test mistakes… then review again

  4. Use “flashcard” apps for quick review

  5. Take care of your physical and mental health ⬅ the most important!

Fun fact.

Standardization isn't all bad - it definitely speeds up the checkout process at our favorite stores.

The first UPC code (i.e. barcode) was implemented on a package of Wrigley's Gum at a grocery store in Troy, OH in 1974.

Bonus resource: if you're trying to eat healthier before the big test, check out the Yuka app - you can scan barcodes of any food or drink to see a score from 1 to 100, plus which ingredients are bad and why.if your career goals require grad school, you can handle it.

Thanks for being here, do something fun and nostalgic this weekend!
