Happy Friday!

I hope you've had a solid week and have enjoyed watching companies out-sale* each other in a bid to compete against Amazon Prime Day.

In the spirit of back-to-school shopping for everyone who's starting school soon, today I've put together an overview of what type of items are worth buying - and what's simply a nice-to-have - when going back to graduate school after working full-time.

* (If you're not an Ebates/Rakuten person yet - I highly recommend it as someone who's been sent $2,000+ worth of rebate checks since 2016, mostly from contact lenses and tires of all things).

This week’s highlights:

  • Your education affirmation

  • 11 graduate school essentials for working professionals

  • What glue sticks and lipstick have in common 💄

Education affirmation.

"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go." - Dr. Seuss

11 graduate school essentials for working professionals.

You’re never too old for the thrill of a fresh notebook… but it may be time for lumbar support.

So what does back-to-school shopping even look like for a working adult?

Here are the main categories (with examples of must-have vs nice-to-have item types in the post below!):

  • Technology

  • Office Supplies

  • Health and Wellness

Fun fact.

Have you ever twisted open a glue stick and thought wow, someone could mistake this for chapstick?

(Or is it just me?)

It turns out that a woman applying lipstick on a plane was the inspiration for glue stick design in 1969 by a German chemist. It expanded into the world market by 1971.

+1 point for the critical thinking learned in grad school.

As always, thanks for being here - have a great weekend!
