TEM #051: Tracking transcripts and test scores for graduate school applications.
August 2, 2024
Happy Friday!
I hope you've had another solid week and are feeling the back-to-school magic starting. Honestly, my educator heart loves it even more than New Year's Eve.
But before the excitement of going back to graduate school can set in, you have to get accepted first.
Something that gets glossed over is how "applying to grad school" is a way more involved process than most people realize (similar to how "getting a new job" is too simply framed as submitting a resume/cover letter and completing an interview... it turns out there can be assessments, 5-step interview marathons and even hours-long projects and presentations to prove your value to an organization).
So today, we're going to dive into transcripts and test scores - because submitting these sounds like it should be straightforward... but it's not always that easy.
This week’s highlights:

Don't drop the ball on transcripts and test scores.
Because correct submissions, error checks and keeping track of everything can be unexpectedly demanding.
Anxiety about having everything in order before you hit submit is real and valid.
These are questions that kept me up at night during the grad school application process:
Did my GRE score arrive yet? Should I have waited to submit and taken it again for a better score?
Did I request the right transcripts? Does that college credit course from high school count? (It does).
Are my 5 transcripts actually being sent? How will I know?
Am I positive everything was submitted correctly and received before the application portal closes?
Start the application process strong with an organization strategy that will help you sleep soundly.
As always, thanks for your support and for being here. Make it an amazing weekend!
